Basketball Orbit
More games to play
Basketball Orbit is a free browser physics game where your goal is to sink a basketball from over 100 feet away. You do not have to nail it in a single shot. Click to keep the ball moving forward, read a color meter to time each click, and eventually drop the ball straight into the hoop. The game runs in your browser with no download and no sign-up, so it is playable unblocked at school or work on any device.
What is Basketball Orbit
Basketball Orbit is a 2D skill and physics game built around a single mechanic: a color meter that decides how well each click sends the ball forward. You watch the meter cycle through red, yellow, orange, and green, and you click at the right moment. Green launches the ball high; yellow advances it partway; red barely gets it off the ground. Your overall score is calculated from three attributes you can upgrade: strength, speed, and bounce.
Controls
The whole game is driven by one button. Up close, mouse position also matters for aiming.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Launch or advance the ball | Left mouse button (or tap on mobile) |
| Aim into the hoop (close range) | Click and move the mouse toward the basket |
| Navigate menus and locker room | Left mouse button |
The color meter and how scoring works
Every click is graded by the color meter at the center of the screen. Timing your clicks on green is the core skill to develop. The points you earn per shot feed into upgrades for your three stats.
| Meter color | What happens | Points impact |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Ball soars high, maximum distance gained | Best reward |
| Yellow/orange | Ball moves partway forward | Moderate reward |
| Red | Ball barely bounces off the ground | Little or no reward |
Upgrades and the locker room
Between shots you can visit the locker room to change your player character or the court background, though some options are locked behind upgrade milestones. Earned points go into three stats: strength (how far each green-meter click sends the ball), speed (how fast the meter cycles, giving you more reaction time), and bounce (how the ball behaves on contact). Max out all three stats and the game unlocks a full slam-dunk sequence that is the closest thing it has to a final goal.
Tips for hitting green every time
- Watch the meter for a full cycle or two before clicking so you learn its rhythm.
- Speed upgrades slow the meter cycle relative to your perception, making green easier to hit consistently.
- Once you are a few feet from the hoop, slow down and aim deliberately rather than clicking fast.
- Invest points in strength first to cover ground faster in the early game.
- If you earn extra points from watching an ad, put them into bounce to improve how the ball corrects off near misses.
