Basketball Legends 2020
More games to play
Basketball Legends 2020 is a 2D arcade basketball game where you choose from 16 NBA-style teams and compete in quick head-to-head matches, solo or with a friend on the same keyboard. It runs free in the browser with nothing to install, so it works at school or work wherever browser games are allowed. The bobblehead art style and per-player special abilities give it a distinct feel from a standard sports sim. Games stay short and punchy, which is why it holds up well as a pass-and-play game.
About Basketball Legends 2020
The game is made by MadPuffers, the studio behind Moto X3M, and released in September 2020 as the follow-up to Basketball Stars 2019. You play 2D court basketball: move along the baseline, shoot, steal, block, and trigger a supershot when your charge meter is full. Matches go 1v1 or 2v2, and the cartoon physics mean dunks send the ball soaring in ways a real NBA game never would.
Each player on the roster carries one of three special abilities: mega dunk, defense boost, or fast break. Picking the right character for your play style matters, because you cannot swap abilities mid-match.
Shooting, dashing, and supershots
Two players share one keyboard. Player 1 uses the left side, player 2 uses the arrow keys on the right.
- Player 1 move: A and D
- Player 1 shoot or steal: B
- Player 1 pump or block: S
- Player 1 dash: tap A twice or D twice
- Player 2 move: left and right arrow keys
- Player 2 shoot or steal: L
- Player 2 pump or block: down arrow
- Supershot (both players): K
The dash is the move most new players miss. A double-tap on your movement key creates space to get off a clean shot.
Game modes and team selection
Four modes are available: quick play for a single match with no commitment, tournament for a bracket session against multiple opponents, training to practice your dash and supershot timing without a clock, and random match for a surprise opponent.
There are 16 teams modeled on popular NBA franchises, each with three players. The players are bobblehead versions of real stars such as LeBron James, Luka Doncic, James Harden, and Steph Curry. Because each character's special ability is fixed, browsing a few players before starting a tournament is worth the extra minute.
